Our Board
CDPS Board of Trustees
Our Board of Trustees provides strategic leadership and governance at Crofton Downs Primary School. We ensure that all students receive high-quality education and that the school meets its long-term goals. The Board comprises representatives elected by parents, the Principal, and a staff representative. We value a range of perspectives and strive to reflect our community’s diversity in our decision-making.
Our Role
We focus on strategic direction and governance, not day-to-day management. Our responsibilities include:
Community Engagement
We actively seek input from parents, staff, and students to guide our strategic decisions. By listening to our community, we ensure our direction aligns with their needs and values. We are committed to maintaining transparent communication and encouraging participation in Board matters.
Who is on Our Board?
Our Board includes community members elected by parents, ,the Principal, and a staff representative. Co-opted specialists join as needed for specific expertise. Members are elected for three year terms. The next election will be in the second half of 2025.

Meetings
The Board meets about ten times per year. Meetings are open to the public, and dates are on our school calendar.
Contacting the Board
Community members may request speaking rights at meetings, or ask that a subject is raised with the board. You are also welcome to contact us with any questions or comments regarding governance or strategic direction. Please email the school office to do this, preferably two weeks before a meeting if you wish to speak.
Complaints should be directed to the Principal in the first instance, before coming to the Board of Trustees.

- The Principal manages daily operations according to the Board’s policies.
